I'm back and I will start to post again the work in progress of my animations. I will stop doing the challenges thing because I realized that it doesn't work pretty well right now because I'm a little busy. So I decided to take a different approach this year and do something that I call reel animation projects.
What is Reel Animation Projects? Will be project-oriented animations in which I set a goal for a set of animations and I do it. So after some research and planning on my career goals I figure out that I don't have an animation style that I really like, so my plan is to experiment with animations depending on its medium. There will be 3 long term projects, which I plan to finish by the end of this year ideally.
First Project:
Video Game Animation. The goal of this project will be to learn how to do video game animation and how to integrate them in Unreal Engine to be able to play with the character.
Second Project:
Realistic Animation. The goal for this project will be to learn how to analyze live action reference and transfer that information to an animation in the way I see it, similar to how visual effects work. This project will have between 3-5 animations, in which there will be included a dialogue performance, a combat shot between 2 humans, a combat shot between 2 animals (or 1 human against 1 animal) and shot of animal locomotion and behavior.
Third Project:
Cartoony / Stylized Animation. This is a fun and challenging one. The goal of this project will be to interpret video reference to cartoons, which basically means broad acting and motion. This project will have between 3-5 animations, in which there will be included two dialogue performance, two body mechanics and two pantomime
I will not do the same thing as the last year and include a playblast in every post tough. I would like better to do in a single post all the updates of one project because it's easier to follow in that way. I will keep posting the work-time for each day.
Let's dive into it!
